In the academy convoy attack training mission I (definately) had the two escorts duke it out with eachother. One of them was firing at the other. Must be a bug. But I've never noticed this in the campaign. Could this be your situation aswel, or did you do a campaign situation?

It happened during campaign, no convoy attack but just heavy dd traffic near enemy base.
