I agree with BigBANGtheory, since it is a simulator we can walk around in there should not be ANY part of the uboat that is "off-limits" for the captain. For instance I would like to climb down into the battery compartment, or will that be "off-limits" too? Even if I can't do anything there I would like to check it out.

I wonder if there will be a 'scratch and sniff' card furnished with the game that carries the aftermath smell of said bathroom activity. Maybe the collector edition

There's no reason to model things that serve no purpose in the game.
