it might be your computer is limited, sh4 uses way way more then the specs say it does so try it without the Real Environments mod
i also "think" theres is a limit on how much time compression you can use with the Real Environments mod but i could be wrong about that. |

Thanks Webster,
I'll try your suggestion. Maybe I need to defrag as well. I'm running several memory-intensive games, but I do have a pretty modern system. |

I remember there was a similar problem with either the Real Environment or RSRD mod, where the graphics go funny after a high TC (time compression).
I think also in the gameplay settings config file you might have funny TC settings which slow down the graphics or what's displayed, so that the game engine can concentrate more on the necessities of 'high speed travel'. ![]() |

I have practically the same problem, except I'm using just GFO with nothing else installed. Game started fine but I'm trying to finish my 2nd patrol and I can't get time compression above 512, the game just crawls and becomes unresponsive like it's running on an old 486 or something.
I know it's not my specs; I have a 2.8 GHz Core 2 Quad, dual nvidia 9800 GTXs and 3 GBs of RAM. Just defragged last night and problem is still there, makes the game unplayable since it would take me hours to just get to home base on this patrol. Any ideas? |

Also, not sure if it is related or not, but even though I haven't experienced any crashes midgame yet, every time I exit to Windows, whether from within patrol or from Main Menu, it gives me a crash notice upon exit.
Mayhaps related? |

have you made sure youre running the latest 195 driver?
also check for overheating issues, that can bring frame rates way down i have a single 512mb 8800gt and GFO runs on 8000 TC all the time with no problems for me and TC hasnt been reported as an issue before with GFO |

I am updated to latest drivers and have tried with both and only one of the vid cards enabled. It's not overheating, my temperature is fine and the problem only occurs when time accel is on. Each increment makes it choppier and choppier. It first becomes noticeable at 128 and the whole program becomes more and more unresponsive. I just tried waiting it out to port at 256 and it crashed on me after about 15 minutes.
Any idea what can be causing this? |
