The only ways to toast a hard disk (of ANY computer type) is to bang it particularly hard with a large phsyical object, or to pass a very powerful magnet near it (like one out of the monitor) or to turn it off whilst its firmware is being wiped. Well gee thanks for the compliment

All I meant was that if an install of winders hangs for whatever reason halfway into the install the drive will have to be reformatted and all data lost.

But hey your an expert right you know that.

The fact that Ive been building, maintaining, pc's and networks for the last 20 years clearly displays my lack of knowledge.
