Note I haven't dug very deep into this, so I could be wrong. The British report
on U-570 hints that British subs are capable of doing straight and 90 degree shots, but nothing in between
them.

Based on this comment I would say British boats are not forthcoming.

British subs? Don't get me wrong, I admire the british navy in ww2 more than the american one, but by gameplay standards, a british sub campaign would lack the punch. What's the fun in a sub game if you're not up against a big fleet? The british, americans and japanese had imense fleets, and they were used very efficiently and ruthlessly, that's why it's so fun and scary to play against all of them. The first months of the PT with the americans are almost as apocalyptic as the late years of the AT. An american expansion (or new game) is clearly the way to go but this time I'd love to test my skills as a japanese too (even just one class of sub, not midget or airplane hangar). I'm already scared.

If I am not wrong, the german torpedoes had inside a giro compass, that was set by the TDC, thats why they could fire at 90 degree

Wasn't part of the motivation to release UBM for SH4 the fact most of the resources were already at hand? Considering this is "all new code", I'd imagine we won't see a return of fleetboats untill SH6, or perhaps a very extensive expansion.

I wouldn't mind paying (close to) full price for an expansion for SH5 that adds content on the scale of the original game... but then they might as well release it as SH6.

I would say not to read too much into a technical discussion.

Suggest some people actually bother to READ about The British Submarine campaign and their torpedos etc - before making snap judgements about weather or not it would work in SH. http://home.cogeco.ca/~gchalcraft/sm/attack.html

@ Dan, should the need ever arise; the best bet is to email the Royal navy Submarine Museum for any accurate information regarding RN subs.
Their email address for such enqiries is: archives@rnsubmus.co.uk - more details here: http://www.rnsubmus.co.uk/contact/historicform.html
(have emailed them once before and they are pretty helpful)
