It's been a long time since I played stock/vanilla, but IIRC you simply hit on the jerry can icon after clicking on the engineer icon.

Just move your cursor to the right side of the screen and it will pop up.

Well if youre playing with GWX, just move your mouse to the left/lower edge of the screen and a slideout will show fuel state aswell as a co2/compressed air & battery levels.

If your running stock, click on your cheif engineers icon (furthest left on the officers panel) and select reports, 3 dials and a vertical column type guage will pop up,the fuel level is the vertical guage on the right.

+You can always wander to the rear of the control room and take a look at the fuel measure in 3d, although its harder to see and those darn bananas tend to get in the way!

If you bought the cd without the manual.

You need to go to C:\Progmam\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter III\Documentory and look for jpeg\pdf for manual.

Looking that manual over will save you alot of questions.

Now go out there and sink some ships.

The fuel meter is the one farthest right. The colored square drops down in the tube as the fuel is depleted. Also, there are 4 gauges (counting the fuel one), not three. You sure you are looking at the same thing?

++forgot to mention, your crew will give you warnings on fuel levels too, at 50%, 25% and 10% remaining. so youre very unlikely to run out without knowing about it!
