They're kicking off with the 5850 and 5870.
Here Come The First DirectX 11 Cards

Oh, don't get me wrong, it's gonna be Nvidia for me as well. Just not sure if I'm gonna jump on the bandwagon right away or wait for 2nd-gen DX11 and pricedrops.

8800 still going strong, but she's beginning to show her age. Could use a little more umph for stuff like ETW and Crysis.

If you're to believe the rumors, it's gonna be "epic" (fanboys ).

Meh, cards are decent enough, but driver-support can take a while. Overall you'll have less head-aches running Nvidia, it's the same with Intel vs AMD. It's the "benefit" of going with the market leader; support is more forthcoming, but you pay a premium, usually for just a marginal advantage.

My last experience with ATI was an AGP HD2600. Tried to get it running on Win7 beta, but wouldn't work (no hardware acceleration for video). Plugged in my trusty GeForce 6200, problem solved. Just run it with windows-driver and playback is 3x better than with the ATI card.

Stormrise is on PC a DX10 only game, but it's a broken debacle in gameplay.

Ati 5000 series will be presented officially next week. Give them a month and they'll bury us under tons of reviews, tests, details, comparisons, performance charts etc...

I hope this will be dx11, since we will have new hardware and software. Of course the most customizable graphic settings will be, the better.

i flatout refuse to ever install vista. i'm skipping it entirely. when im ready to build a new PC, i'll get windows 7 for it.

as for now XP works just fine thank you.
