Does anyone have noticed that this are cinematics?
Sorry, but I cannot judge a game based on its cinematics. The WarCraft cinematics 10 years ago were also incredible, but had nothing to do with the gameplay. I skipped SHIV and I will keep an ear on SHV but cinematics will not convince me to buy. |

I will buy it because I want to support sim development but I am disappointed for a number of reasons.
The first is unfair of course but I am sort of stunned that they choose to turn this into a "Sims U-boat" in my opinion instead of the easier job of a modern subsim. And yes it is easier compared to the massive amount of work needed to accurately simulate a U-boat crew. The second is other than that what else is new? Looks pretty? Aye it does but SH3 is still pretty as well. Are we going to be without wolfpacks again? |

No it will not. Just like it wont be a modern subsim. Ubisoft is going to go with the same cycle over and over again until sales slow down to a standstill.

I don't mean to slam post-war simulations but wouldn't be cold-war era simulator limiting the action almost exclusively to submarine to submarine action?
Also, cold-war was just that: cold war, no real full fledged war and IMO it is kinda silly to play what-if? scenarios...

"What if Captain Zachstar sank a carrier with an S-Class during World War 2" There was no captain Zachstar obviously so its a "What if" As for cold war stuff. We did not go from fleet boat to 688i in a few years. Homing torpedoes did not get seriously effective right after WW2 and even today a war would involve interdiction of enemy shipping. |

Ok, I see your point.
I guess that there are "what-if?"s and "what-if?"s The cold-war sub sim would fall in the later category. Just kidding. What I was trying to say is that WW2 actually happened as opposed to cold-war which was more of "political situation" than actual war...

Everyone's going to buy it regardless of what they say.......As Sarah Palin would say..."You betcha ya".
My wife is very concerned and hope it sucks..... We can specualate and whine about this or that....but I'm not going to worry about what it is or isn't, I'll wait until it comes out..when I know, then opinions count, not months before the game comes out. I would spend a nights dinner just to have a complete sub.....Let's look forward to it rather than fall into depression over ...if's. My guess is they will hit it out of the ballpark.... |
