Wouldn't I? Why? Tarantino, since he is mentioned by CastleBravo - that's the kind of movie i do not like, all films I saw by him. Is District 9 just that - movie a la Tarantino? Did not get that impression when reading about it.

Just got back from seeing it this afternoon.

Two thumbs up. Action, social commentary, some moral ambiguity, and more action with a satisfying denouement.

Best sci-fi I've seen in a very long time.

Yeah, it was a pleasant surprise as far as a quality film goes.

The first part was unusual, I was wondering if this was how the whole movie was going to be? But the rest was great.

After watching Transformers - Terminator - then District 9, I'm beginning to wonder how long it will be before CGI characters will take over the actors place.

Eh, granted, I don't like Tacos and Mexfood, but let's leave the movie business out of the kitchen - don't we agree that Clint Eastwood is a great one in film making, and that some of Aaahnold's films make funny entertainment?

The Outlaw Josse Whales is one of my all time favorites. Eastwood's Spaggetti Westerns with Sergio Leone are also great!!! The Good, Bad, and Ugly, are top notch IMHO. But I like Tarantino fore his audacity and unabashed character development in movie making.

Eastwood's early Westerns and Dirty Harry are cool entertainment, but his real greatness I see shining in his works of age and when he started as a director. The Bridges of Madison County, Unforgiven, Million Dollar Babe, Gran Torino, are masterpieces that rank very high on my list of all-time favourites. Dirty ol' Callaghan is cool, and I often watch him when TV repeats those movies although I know them all - but it gives me just two hours of pointless entertainment, which is okay if not expecting more. Eastwood's late works give something more satisfying than just that. The often hailed Mystic River, however, I found to be overestimated, and his two movies on Iwo Jima also did not convince me.

Aww, ok, you got me there Really, though, D-9 was a pretty neat flick, you almost don't realize it's a movie until halfway to the end.

Do you like prawns? Because after this movie you'll never look at them the same way again.

Despite the ad campaign I only just stumbled across this by accident the other day, read up the storyline and watched the trailer.
It looks good, an interesting social commentary in a science-fiction film, and quite ironic (although perhaps intentionally so?) that it was chosen to be filmed in South Africa.
Regards Tarantino, there are some of his I like, Kill Bill 1 and 2 comes to mind, primarily for his cinematography, the way he sets up shots and filters, it's very artistic and also usually very bloody
Eastwood in the westerns, classic stuff, another classic =

I just saw it yesterday. Had a couple of plot holes that bothered me a little, but on the whole an excellent flick. The CGI was outstanding, making the aliens look very real, and in spite of their all seeming to look alike (which on closer examination they didn't - another racial comment?) they had very distinct personalities.

I highly recommend it to any sci-fi fan.

I found the film to be a nice change from the constant aliens scifi flicks.

Nice story with a cool CGI effects. Good to know the certain interests groups have your best interest at heart.
