OK Thanks SeaWolf, so in fact I can use your mod and this will change the Basic.cfg file for all U-Boats.

In that case (using your mod), I don't have to earn renown everytime I start a new patrol ... right?

@ Rafael this answer was for BulSoldier my basic file also adds a lot of changes to the weapons layout of the subs so it may not be for you

but yes you can start anytime use any sub
and up-grade as you see fit

I understand, I can use your file or search my own basic.cfg file and look for "renown" and change it to 0.

Maybe a strange topic, but I like it (no renown), the way NYGM has done it. I fully understand that RENOWN is something as PappyCain wrote. However, my personal opinion is different concerning renown.

When my current patrol ends, I will use your mod and will see how things will develop!

Another option is the one I use: GWX doesn't make you go through the whole Academy to get the 1500 renown. All you have to take is the first Navigation course and you're set.

On the other hand, I've never used renown at all. I just don't ever upgrade anything.

Not necessary, you don't need any renown because you are always here online at subsim.com!

BTW, is it possible to have at least a little bit when you start and change at the beginning the NavalAcademy.log ... or do you have to edit also another file?

The best way and least likely to mess up the CFG file, is to perform one patrol then on your return go to:

Patrols_0 CFG in C\MyDocuments\SH3\data\cfg\Careers and change the delta renown near the bottom to an amount of your choice.

Thanks Jim, but I am not the "wise guy" ... so let's say I do one patrol and go back to basis. All with SH3 Commander.

I edit the Patrols_0.cfg here in bold:

HullIntegrity=100.000000
DeltaRenown=0.000000
NbSaves=0
ChangedRank=No

Q.1) How it should been correctly done?

Q.2) And do I need to edit the NavalAcademy.log too?

Simply change the DeltaRenown (I have to 50,000 in your example above).

When you close the CFG it will ask you if you want to save the change....choose yes.

Leave the NavalAcademy alone.
