I was using the Gillette 5 blade razor but switched to this:

Same great shave as the gillette but at half the price.

I, too, use the Gillette Fusion (5-blade). I got it as a birthday present last year and have been hooked ever since, as it is absolutely the best razor that I have ever had. However, the blade price is quite painful. I think I'll look into that one, AVG.

I would not say the Magnum is better than the Fusion. I think the Fusion is a far superior blade however you pay the price. The Magnum is not as smooth but the price is much lower and I can overlook that aspect. The Magnum does come with straight edge for hard to reach places.

Precisely why I went back the other way! One blade, close shave, no irritation.

If I have the time, I sit still and concenrate very hard until my facial hair falls off all by itself Takes a little practise though.
But about that magnum 5 ... Isn't there a battery powered razor for wet shaves? Nobody I know has ever bought it, and to me the very idea seems kinda stupid. I think it looks a bit like that magnum 5, but afaik, said razor has also a non-powered version.

I have used the powered one. It does a nice job. They claim the vibrations make the hairs stand up. So does sticking you finger into a socket. I have tried all of them really. My beard grows fast. I usually have 5 o'clock shadow by 0900 So, I have spent time looking at good shavers. As far as those damn Bic plastic ones.....run like hell. It is like shaving with a garden rake. Really, the best I have found is the Gillette 5 blade but it is very expensive. The Magnum is not as good but the price is very good IMO for the shave I do receive from the Magnum.

I rub sea salt on my face and put a dish of water on my bedside table.

Now set your alarm for 3am and go to bed.

When the alarm sounds, jump out of bed as quick as you can, the hairs should be thirsty at this point in time and be out looking for a drink of that water...now quickly tie a knot in them to prevent them jumping back inside your chin.

Yea disposables are cheaper but how many shaves do you get out of them two, three?

The Mach three blades will last me at least a week probably two or three weeks.

And (cant belive I'm saying this) what about the enviroment man !

I get about three weeks out of both the Gillette and the Magnum. Those nice little strips they put on to indicate the blade is used up is nonsense. Both have them and both are useless.

As are as the environment, I remember seeing the USS Coral Sea getting cut up.
She was being cut up for razor blades from what I was told. So, we are thinking about the environment.
