This just made my night!

Thanks for the news! I was just looking at my lastest PC Gamer again today and drooling over the little blurb they had printed about this game.

Having tried the demo, I'm sorry to say that it's a great disappointment.

Hardware problems abound. My Athlon 3500, Geforce 6800 GT, 2 GB DDR RAM system can't spit out more than 20 or so FPS with this one. Visually, T-72 looks not even half as good as Silent Hunter III.

The developers are onto something here. This simulation shows great promise, and if it is thoroughly polished and run through its tests, I'll be very interested to see how it turns out.

For now, though, I recommend steering clear of this.

agreed, the same disappointment to me like the former (russian language only) demo one year ago.

The framerate on my system, AMD3200+, GF6800Ultra, 1GB went most of the time below 20fps. It's a no-buy for me in this state.

Did you manage to ford the river in the navigational training mission? I simply cannot comprehend WHY they want me to just dunk my tank and wreck it that way. I even tried driving AROUND the pool of water, but command wasn't impressed.

Every time I'd submerge that tank I'd lose power to the engines and get the message "try to avoid obstacles on the course", or something like that.

Make sure that before entering the water that you increase fuel flow to the engine like the commander instructs(sp?). Anyways the demo runs prefect on my 6600gt amd 64+ 3200 .

Big gripe with the demo though.... in the 3rd mission "dog fight" the hostile tank does not fire back or do anything for that matter....

Playing the full game beta is way different from the demo,
http://www.tanksim.com/reviews/preview_t72_balkans.htm
It will rock when it hits the stores...trust me.

I've been playing a copy for several months, it's pretty good. Not sure what is causing the framerate problems...I haven't noticed anything.

I had some fun with this one as well, and it ran OK on my mediocre system... had to get used to the looks though and as soon as smoke entered the screen my FPS went down the drain.
I got stuck in the pond as well Was actually quite funny to see your crew jumping out of the tank and swimming for the shore :rotfl:
