Sorry, I don't agree with your conclusions regarding that video. I won't try to argue who's opinion is correct as that will go nowhere fast, I just don't reach the same opinion of it because I do believe the USA crossed the line and sullied ourselves from a higher moral ground. Maybe those morals are only our own, but of what value are they if even we don't believe in them.

Enough of the morals and values BS. That's the same tired stuff that people have been going on about for years now. The simple fact of the matter is if you're in the wrong, you're in the wrong; and what we did in Iraq was just wrong. We made false/misleading accusations (by that I mean evidence was later revealed to be contrary to our immediate assumptions at the time/no evidence was found to support what we'd claimed) about them to make a declaration of war (about WMDs, Hussein backing terrorist groups directly involved in September 11th, you know the drill), we furthermore violated international law by declaring war, but perhaps the worst thing of all that we did was upset the situation in the Middle East (which spawned negative results for Israel and Saudi Arabia--political mostly, such as increased hostility and/or activity from terrorist groups-- and also escalated the levels of civil unrest within Iraq itself).

Quote:
"President Bush would never have criticised our military or our intelligence community on foreign soil," former George Bush speechwriter Marc Thiessen said on Fox News.
Well looking past the fact that this is his speechwriter and not Bush who is making this assertion, I would not be surprised if he didn't criticise what we started over there or admit to a mistake for that matter; the man has an ego the size of the Western Hemisphere. HOWEVER, I would not rule the possibility out; stranger things have been said and happened before.

Quote:
"He basically threw our military under the bus in front of a Muslim audience."
He did no such thing. He admitted that we made some mistakes. It's as simple as that. We're a nation just like anybody else, and as such we DO make mistakes. We're not perfect, nobody is, and that's that. Get over it. If you think we are, take a step back and try to understand oncemore how reality works.

look my link posty thing works too w00+
all im saying is - without regard to "whos guy it is"
- if a lot ... hell if ANY... of his campaign money came from undisclosed overseas interests, wouldnt you want to know WHO it was

and why is he not telling?

something to hide?

does he not know himself who donated?

respecting the privacy of his contributors?

or something sinister?

it could be any one of those reasons, but would we be irresponsible for not at least CHECKING ???

To be fair, $25.2 million isn't exactly a small piece of cash.

In the wingnut mind, there's no way a brown skinned man with a funny sounding name could have won a fair election in their vision of "'A'merka" so they invent these conspiracies in the face of all facts to square their vision with reality.

Lets get carried away with the facts, okay.

1. Having gone to Harvard Obama is probabaly smarter than anyone on this forum except for August, okay

2. Obama won by a large voter turn out that included millions of white voters voting for him too. He is a very popular president.

3. Before Hillary gave up Bill Clinton said Obama didn't have what it takes (experience) to be the president of the United States of America. Allow me this one future thought, Obama is proving this and if he stumbles guess who is getting the experience to become the 46th president of the United States of America ... If you said Hillary Clinton you are correct.

4 Obama attended a church in Chicago for 22 years and never heard his pastor preach one single anti-american sermon (give me a break) Rev Wright was and still is his friend. His children were baptised in that church and untill recently was the only church he had ever been a member of ...

5. As of June 2009 Mr Obama had attended more Muslim mosque than he had a christian (which he proclaims to be) churches. His failure to locate a church in the Washington, DC area was given to his popularity and need for security. Barack Obama still looking for church

Okay, we give him that one, remembering that Mr Bush also chose to stay at home and attend a closed church service at Camp David which after six months of no home church Mr Obama has also now selected to be his church. Don't think this is not important in future events.

6. Who would be on the inside track of knowing how many passports Mr Obama had in the 1980's ... the State Department has that information and you already know who runs that department.

7. Mr Obama has 30 so called czars guiding him on what to do ... who are they and what do they tell him?

http://thinkprogress.org/2009/07/16/fox-debunks-czars/

Quote:
Fox news introduced “All the President’s Czars,” citing a list from Taxpayers for Common Sense of “more than 30 czars” that “do not need to be confirmed by the Senate like Cabinet secretaries do.”
There is no number eight ... I have to go repent from reading the news and smiling that Mr Obama is on the way down. The Lord doesn't like my smirk and I don't want to be linked with Rush Limbo either.

More facts to chew on: Obama meets with Mormon leader

Quote:
WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama met with the leader of the Mormon church on Monday in the Oval Office, thanking the religion’s president for a thorough history of the first family.
Quote:
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints President Thomas S. Monson presented Obama with details of his family’s genealogy during their first face-to-face meeting. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, a Nevada Democrat who is Mormon, helped arrange the meeting and joined it.
“I’m grateful for the genealogical records that they brought with them and am looking forward to reading through the materials with my daughters,” Obama said in a statement after the meeting. “It’s something our family will treasure for years to come.”
Quote:
“President Obama’s heritage is rich with examples of leadership, sacrifice and service,” Monson said in a statement. “We were very pleased to research his family history and are honored to present it to him today.”
The five leather-bound books detail Obama’s family history for several generations. Parts of that history were already known, such as his ties to former Republican Vice President Dick Cheney. The two are eighth cousins.
