Not sure if that'll work in 1944 environment when every Allied ship larger than a rowboat has a radar set.

It definitely wouldn't work. It's too narrow to escape radar detection.

I'm making a slow but steady progress. most of the time I'm submerged because of the aircrafts. Now I'm 20km from the entrance to the Strait, with a lot of patrols around. I was overrun by a task force, and one destroyer passed directly over me. I thought he detected me but it was just a coincidence.

I'm not going to surface again but will continue at 220m. The air supply should last, and I should be out of the Strait within 24h.

2 knots with charged batteries and a full supply of air should see you through....good luck
