Remember that even if you change the number of days with SH3 Commander, you still need to remember that you will stay an extra day per % of hull damage and for any changes to your boat.

I keep SH3 Commander set to Randomize, so I never know what I'm going to get. I've spent the better part of a month in base, and I had a type II turned around and out at sea in as little as five days, which was a pleasant surprise.
