I always tell true things to people. I'm also one of the few people I know who not only admits his mistakes, but makes an effort to point them out himself. John Campbell's Naval Weapons Of World War Two mentions the loadouts for the different guns, but under starshells and armor piercing he says "for destroyers and minesweepers". He doesn't say "only" but it seemed pretty definitive at the time. So I was taken aback when I read about US boats carrying some of both, and then just awhile ago some evidence turned up about the u-boats.

On the other hand, GWX is finished - they are now working on the SH4 version. Me? I don't see a need for them, since the submarine's purpose is to hide, not shout out "HERE I AM!" If somebody wants to change something, they should learn to do so. I'm still learning how to change the things I want myself.

We all know the purpose of submarine perfectly but you can't deny that u-boats carried SS with them. Maybe some of them, or maybe all of them. Can't say that I know that. Nor I make the "quote endings" of mine if there is no straight answer I was looking for in a books .

Thanks for the info. I enjoyed the stock game even with its drawbacks. Also enjoy the upgrades provided by guys like you that use this forum. I play SH3 for enjoyment, not to refight a war and don't want an internet war just for asking if a star shell load our was possible. I poste here for inf and in the Mods forum for info if a mod was possible. Didn't mean to cause a debate.

Rule #1: If there is any question at all about a subject, there will be a debate. Some will insist that it was, some will insist that it wasn't, and I, being an honest seeker of the truth, will usually take both sides. And be wrong both times.
