and i maintain that the Swiss have the right to say "no". i still think that tax evasion is wrong. no matter how bad i hate paying taxes. there has to be some sort of international cooperation to prevent crimes committed in one part of the world from going unpunished in another.

but if a citizen of some foreign nation extorts millions of elderly peoples retirement funds and funnels those funds into the bank accounts of my nation to keep the cash illegally for himself... i think that my nation should make whatever evidence they have available to the authorities of the foreign nation. i dont agree with the US trying to strong arm anyone... but i do think that they have the right to ask the swiss to make evidence available so that criminals can be prosecuted. let me ask you this. if a shifty eyed con man extorts millions of dollars from retirees and widows and claims those funds were lost in the stock market... when in fact he has rat holed the money into foreign banks so that he can keep the funds for himself... what would you do Castlebravo? just say f*ck it and look the other way? when you refuse to enforce the law - there is no law
