Extrude selected faces.
This works like the extrude tool except that instead of entering a numeric offset for the location of the extruded faces,
you drag the faces to the desired location with the mouse.

Mouse operations
Press and hold a mouse button to begin an extrude operation.
The faces you select will move with the mouse.
New faces will be created to connect the moving faces to the rest of the object.
If you release the mouse button and press and hold again,
it will start a new extrude operation.

Yes now it finally works by just pressing the insert button
I don't find it to extrude with the mouse but now it works so that's something

I figured out it is difficult to make an entire ship in one file so perhaps it is better to built every compartment and stuff in separate files?

But is this misfit3d good enough to create a ship?
Maybe something else could be better to work with i do not know.

Yes,
Misfit is good enuff to build an entire Ship.

It will take time for you to learn how the Units are built.
You'll need to extract an entire Ship and study how it's built.

I don't know if S3D will extract an entire Ship in one shot,
But Pack3D will.

Looking at how each part is done will guide you to creating
or modding a Ship to suit your needs.

It won't happen over nite!
That I'll guarantee!

And once the 3D model is built?
there's UV Mapping it,
textureing it,
importing all the pieces and adjusting them.
Then doing the other files to support it.

It's a long road.
But well worth it.

Looks like i still sound like a retard but i try real hard !
Long way ahead indeed. I have to admit i can work much easier with anim8tor. U can draw much easier with lines in there and then extrude but i guess once i get the hang of it drawing with polygons i'll get there too i think.
Maybe i should make some easier things first like a small boat before starting to work on a 3 master of over 100 meters tall and masts of almost 50 meters high
I do have to admit the view from up there is very nice !
But dangerous to climb up there in rough wheater when the boat is swinging very hard and u aren't connected while climbing up
Maybe that will be my first mod ! The sailing mod in SH3. Going 16 knots and maybe some AA guns installed for enemy planes

But i have always a error when i try to save but in the meantime i am getting more skilled with every hour i work with it! Now i can even extrude with the mouse so what an improvement !
Maybe u know why i get these errors when i try to save Privateer?

nevermind i solved it put mmd stuff behind it and now it can be saved

Now i have something small but i'm proud that i actually made something!
I know that after many hours of practise i will be able to create something that will be even good enough to enjoy for others !
I didn't post it today because it is so embarassing but after this i will give you guys this small thing just to see what you guys think of it

Thanks to Iambecomelife i am using wings3d again and i must admit after a while it's much easier to use !
I practised alot already with it today and the skill progress is good.
Now if anyone wants to see some try outs and such please tell me and also explain me how to post it here because i wanted to post a picture of a seehund which i saw in Brest, France but i wasn't able to post it because it was too big when i made it in a .bmp
It's long hard work but now after more then one week i made quiet some skill in creating i hope that i will have a nice full hull of the dar mlodziezy next week !
Then i need to "skin" it? as the modders say to make it have a look.
I do have some nice pictures of the ship from sideways when i was arriving back home with it (taken by my dad) But i don't know how to skin it so maybe somebody else can tell me how to do that?
In the meantime i will work further on the hull and masts of the vessel.
I post a lot just to keep sure i'm alive and still working on it
Maybe it's annoying all my posts i dunno but i just wanted to make sure to all of you that i try very hard on it !

Here i am again just to keep everyone here served with the hottest

I tried to make the hull for several hours but then i had the problem that i made the stuff too big.
So i guess i need to build it in several files to build an entire vessel.
And then i need to make things also much smaller then they are now.
Wings3d can't handle the huge things that i build

Maybe there's some advice on that? because i make a lot of this balls but i just need a few and then move them freely? i really don't know but i give this method a try now!

Use pack3d to export a ship.
That will show you how a ship is divided into parts.
Then use the main object as a starter scale.
DivingDuck has a scaleing wall on his website
that will help to scale things properly also.

No need to rebuild what you have.
Just scale everything down.

Thank you privateer !
And when should i use this ?
After i have an entire 3 model or when i finished the hull completely?
I'm always open for much advice that way i can probably save a lot of time And then u guys can experience it too.

Have one part of the hull more or less good so now i can copy it over the ship and then i need to modify it slightly and THEN i need to give the deck structure the shape it needs because on a sailing ship the deck isn't flat but angled

Is perhaps anyone interested in sailing this vessel ingame?
Not for war of course but just some sailing and maybe get a clou where the british sail in game but won't get attacked
The vessel is capable of going up to 16knots in good wind conditions. And when the water was calm we did almost 8knots on the two diesel engines.
And they would go probably faster if good maintained and they weren't.
They needed a good clean of the turbo's and such.

Just give me a sign if anyone wants to sail on a sailing ship in game

I think any ship is worth makeing playable.
But come to terms with the simple stuff first.
You must learn to walk before you run.

Only need to adapt the bow again and the poop.

An minor adjustements that it looks nicer but things are going good and faster then i thought so that's good news
