Default If you are interested and live in CA

California is the place to be on Monday.

Launch dates and times are given in Pacific Time using a 24-hour format (midnight = 00:00, 1:00 p.m. = 13:00, 11:00 p.m. = 23:00, etc.).

JUN 29 03:01-09:01 Minuteman III---Vehicle will send three unarmed warheads on a ballistic trajectory to Kwajalein in the central Pacific

With the exception of Minuteman III launches, launch dates are fluid and tend to change over time. Minuteman III is not suseptable to weather or other delays. Minuteman III will launch at its earliest launch window.

Is this a sign to NK?

The first launch I ever saw was when I was jogging along the beach near Vandenberg (a Titan, IIRC). Really, really awesome...if anybody can go it really is worth your time.

I can't stay up then. I did however watch a shuttle re-entry towards Edwards. Can't mistake it for anything natural.

You should see a shuttle launch here in Florida I live a good 80 miles from the Cape and you can farily well see it go up as well as the unmanned rockets they also send out of the cape from time to time.

The ones at dusk are the best. I saw one from about 40 miles away just as the sun set it was sweet.I have tried to go to the public area at Kennedy Space Center to see one up close but I must be bad luck for them each time they scrubed the mission when I was there.I saw the Challenger at school back in 1986 I was about 10 at the time the entire school was outside to watch it it got all the media(before the accident) because it had the woman who was a teacher on it NASA picked her though i think it was Regans idea for NASA to pick a teacher.

You are all very lucky, this is something I have always wanted to see

I think the message to NK will be something along the lines of...."Our systems are deadly accurate and never fail to arrive at their intended destination!!"

I am not sure what NKs deal is they have far inferior systems than we.They can launch a missile to show where they will be in 10 years from now. We could launch one that would destroy where they are now in seconds.

Cynthia: What's going on?
Joe Huxley: Those are Minuteman missiles!
Cynthia: Like a test, sort of... like a warning?
Joe Huxley: [shakes his head, staring at the missiles in awe and disbelief] They're on their way to Russia. They take about thirty minutes to reach their target.
Aldo
: So do theirs, right?

The Day After. Good flick, realistic too I'd say.

You guys recall the "new" Twilight Zone they had back in the 80s?(not that movie there was also a TV show for a bit) I saw one episode where this woman bought this device(I cant recall what it was it has been 20 years since I saw it) anyway she dicovers that it can stop time for all but her and thought the episode she uses it a few times for this or that.Anyway at the very end of the episode the old Dooms Day whistle starts a blowin so the woman and her family all huddel together and the woman uses the device to stop time just as the warhead was to go off. Of ocurse the Twilight Zone part of it is in effect it is still the end of the world for the woman even though she stopped it as now she is all alone in the time stopped second of Dooms Day world.Makes you think.

Yeah, I do remember that episode!

Kind of terrifying because the scene ends without telling what she will do.

I got to see quite a bunch of launch test when I was living in SB, CA. At night looks pretty nice but as someone say is kind of an awkward feeling, I think they were testing stuff for the Stars Wars Project or so, it was back in 2002, I believe.
