Default Wilhelmshaven Battleship

Running GWX 3.0

Is there a reason the Battleship in Wilhelmshaven does not have any turrets?

Is this a graphical glitch or isit supposed to be that way?

I think it's supposed to represent the Tirpitz....still under construction.

Nope, not a glitch...just a historical feature

Your looking at the KMS Tirpitz, it will get its turrets fitted later on in the campaign.

That is too bleedin' cool... I thought I just couldn't make out the turrets from that distance...

might be a good idea to include some sort of patch which adds welders and workers on the decks of the tripitz...

That caught me off guard, too. When I found out it was historical accuracy I was shocked. The GWX team's attention to detail is stunning.

Yes very impressive, the attention to detail is. One other thing I noted, in Kiel the Graf Zeppelin has some Stukas on the flight deck which look like they're painted in the Red Rull Racing colours. I'm sure it's not...but were they really that colour?

Well, considering the fact that the Graf Zeppelin never received her air group or even launched a plane, they can be any colour you want.

those are supposed to be large rubber inflatable aircraft used to fool air recon into thinking the ship was at or very near battle readiness. the military term for such things is "spoofs"

some info on "spoofs" here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dummy_tank

Yeah I read up on the Graf Zeppelin a while back. Was fascinated by the fact that not many people realise Germany had one. And funny reading the argument between who controlled the planes/air wing, Goering or Donitz and that Goering wanted to provide second-line Stukas and Donitz wanted the front-line 109s instead. Funny though how war has changed. In WW2 they used to pretend they had extra stuff by using spoof whereas today it's the opposite and try to hide everything.

Excellent! A T-80 tank you can knock out with a Swiss army knife.....or a really stiff wind.

There is only 1 wat to find out. I'm going to shoot some 20cm flak ammo at them...they'll either deflate or blow up. I'll report in with my findings.
