It seems that no or very few real life commitments would be a key factor.

Also a really understanding/forgiving/angelic/helpful spouse/significant other/boyfriend/girlfriend/partner to take full advantage as well.

I would only do that if I was on a real sub in the middle of a war where getting off the sub would mean drowning. Otherwise I will always use TC.
