As an aside, isn't it ironic that as kids, exercise was play and as adults its "working out"?

The Norwegian philosopher and mountaineer Arne Naess was once asked how it came that he took up climbing. I never did, he answered. It's just that most grown up people stop climbing...
I think he stayed true to that, within his capabilities, until he died earlier this year 96 years old.

Children and grown ups can all play and stay both fit and happy. "All work and no play makes xxx a dull boy."

Indeed, and good post.

Funny thing about me: I'm a total sucker for poignant, relevent, and interesting philosophical quotes.

No joke. Schools have made a rule to not play games like tag because someone could get hurt. (welcome to attempting not getting sued)

Do not forget to throw in a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken on odd nights.

Quote#3
The electronic baby sitters do not promote exercise. The Wii does but even I can get around that sitting on the couch.

LOL saying that the Wii promotes excercise is like subscribing to the 12oz wrist curl program.

It would be interesting to find a study of IQ and obesity. I would assume healthier people are smarter because of better oygen levels to the brain than obese individuals. Also it seems that obese people have less motivation and would not be the most productive people in a society.

Did anybody else have a GREAT time playing dodge-ball when you were a kid? Sure, you got beaned in the face once or twice, but it was damn fun.

____

And just because we're talking about fatties:
