Anyway, if I'm reading it correctly, Scott is at least involved with the movie, even if he isn't directing.

Reports from earlier this week suggest that Fox have brought on Scott and his brother Tony to produce a new film, but that commercial director Carl Rinsch would direct. Tony Scott has since confirmed that Rinsch, who has worked with the Scott Free production company run by Ridley and Tony, is indeed on board and that the movie is a prequel.

I and my cuisines love the first two aliens movies. After that it went way off course.

Still thinking about the alien ship on LV4 planet in my eyes looked like a transport ship or a prison ship? The on board aliens crew flying the dam thing may have had the duty to move the egg infested ship from A to B. Or simply keep it from going near any civilized galactic societies at that time.

I guess one of the crew was stupid and became a host. Then all hell broke loose and they crashed. They put out a warning to keep other species from boarding that ship.

But humans are as curious as cats and stupid too. Unfortunately we don't have nine lives.

All good theories but that is my views on that alien transport ship.

oddly enough, I re-watched part of Apocalypse Now last night, one of my favorite movies, a brilliant, though slightly flawed masterpiece which is probably the best metaphor for not only the American experience in Vietnam, but Iraq as well.
