Various German newspapers. For example:

Currently, RB gets officially classified as a narcotic, and a violation to current food-law. However, the main issue about RB is not that it is considered to be a serious risk to health, but violating these laws. I personally consider the ammount of phosphate in Coca Cola as more health-threatening (and as a health risk: widely underestimated). But good for me that I hate the taste of RB - and most softdrinks - anyway, with the exception of Cola.

It's so bad that Coca Cola tastes so good. Both that ridiculous amount of white sugar and of phosphate make it a really bad thing. Why must the healthy things often be so boring in taste, more expensive and taking longer time to prepare, and the easy, cheap, tasty things often so bad for your health?

Coca Cola does not use white sugar, I worked at the Richmond, BC. CCE (Coca Cola Enterprises) plant for 14 years. Depending on the market it is produced for it contains Fructose or Isoglucose (called High-Fructose corn syrup in the US). Nowhere do they use Sucrose (white sugar) alone.

As for the Red Bull issue in Germany, here is an article in English for those that could not read the other one:

Yes, that turns it into a health drink!

Fructose causes a slower rise of blood sugar, but regarding body fatness it is as critical as Saccharose, since it affects the body'S carbohydrate metabolsim for the negative, and gets transformed into fat even faster than Saccharose. Also, a significant part of the population cannot absorb fructose, or only insufficently, so that it gets accumulated in the intestine where it increases/feeds germ growth, which then has negative conseqeunces for the functionality and sensitivity of the immune-system.

Therefore, Fructose is demanded to be banned from public selling, activists even want it to be no longer classified as a type of food. The wide-spread belief that it is the "better sugar" and serves nice as a sugar-surrogate for diabetics, is wrong. Maybe that is becasue many people mix the meaning of fructose, glucose, sucrose wildly and do not really know the different meanings (I struggle myself, too).

Isoglucose is familiar to socalled invert sugar, that is saccharose that got split into glucose and fructose.

It'S running around words, even if there are differences: that does not make it any less damaging to health. I wish it would, but it doesn't.

Lesson learned: have soft drinks rarely only. I have maybe one bottle of Coca Cola Zero (sweetener) per month, maybe even less. But when I have, I enjoy it.

Drinking large amounts of basically anything is detrimental to your health, hell drink enough water and you'll keel over.

I know quite a few doctors in my profession as well as having gone through this. Kidney stones....Oh are they fun...Anyway, it appears that the carmel coloring in many products including colas cause kidney stones. Another reason to avoid cokes and pepsis if one has a disposition to that.

I've also seen a drink called "Swiss Canabis".

What kind of wisdom should this be? Deleting any quality difference between consuming water when you're thirsty, and consuming tons of sugar?

Fatness in the west is spreading pandemic. and it is not about people eating too much, but eating the wrong kind of stuff. Sugar. Salt. Bad fats and oils. White flour. Too much meat. And not eating enough of what physiologically is needed: roughage/dietary fibre for example. Vegetable. Unreffined grain. Most industrial food, convenience food, should be labelled as poisenous and hazardous to your health. That's is no exaggeration, that is the simple truth. Fatness, diabetes, cardio-vascular diseases - all this witnesses that we are eating too bad food. And increasingly we find hints and evidence for typical diseases of higher age being influenced by bad diet habits as well: Parkinson, Altzheimer.

You can still buy Dr. Pepper from it's original plant made with the original recipe that uses cane sugar instead of corn syrup.

When in Mexico don't drink the water.

When in the mountains don't eat the yellow snow.
