I'm downloading this now, but I have a question about sensor availability that was never addressed in the original CA-24F thread. Using the original, I had no hydrophone availability in the refit periods into 1940. Has this bug been addressed in this version of your mod?

Just d'loaded and attempted to extract. It prompts for Atlantic Part 2, but none is available on your filefront page. So what's the deal?

OK W_clear, I'm calling you out. FRONT AND CENTER! NOW!

Sir, "My Atlantic Mod" positively sucks as a name for this! How about going the Prince route and giving it an unpronounceable (to English and European language speaking people) name with 帮我解 characters?:rotfl: Then WE'd have the language problem? Justice, no?

Somebody translate this for him, quick!

Yeah W_clear. Your mod needs a better name than "My Atlantic Mod". However, the current name certainly lets everyone know what the mod is about!

Hmmmmm....maybe a what to call W_clear Atlantic mod contest Of course W_clear gets to pick the name

I do not moderate this forum. You will have to ask a moderator that can change the title for you.

important question about the included real environments mod:

will the scene.dat or other environmental files in this mod be different then the ones in real environments?

if i made a mod to use with real environments will it work for this mod too or will i need to make a new one to use with this mod?

Downloaded and installed it. Here's the first observations, after some 15' into it:

What I liked:
- the intro screens

What I didn't like:
- No readme with the changes. Actually, what has been changed?
- US ships are still present in the German roster and can be found in ports, under German flag
- Atlantic is too blue & transparent to my liking
- roll & pitch still doesn't look natural (I know, game engine is borked, but still...)
- still in Spanish (not precisely a showstopper... if one speaks Spanish)
- a normal dive takes a VIIB down in just 20 seconds?????? Isn't this a little too fast?
- in fair weather (5m/s) the sub deck gets constantly covered by wave splashes / could it be because of too many splash generators in the sub model?
- there are German quick missions with Battleship Iowa and they crash the game
- ports are deprived of any life. Starting a career in 1939, I found Kiel to have only 4 or 5 docked ships.

I downloaded the current version and installed it, and here are my first impressions:

1) The period (.) and comma (,) keys don't work for looking at different ships.

2) The voices for the speed orders are wrong. They go along with the standard SH4 American voices, which are also wrong. In the original "Ahead 1/3" is given as correct, but selecting "Ahead 2/3" gives the voice command "Ahead Slow". This mod follows that mistake exactly.

3) Only Speech files are updated - the .wav files haven't been touched, which means the 'Battle Stations' commands are American, including voices speaking English.

4) When exiting the harbors one sees a pair of Ju-90 patrol bombers circling the harbor, which is nice, but they didn't enter production until 1942.

5) The Type II U-boat has 41 crew members, not including the captain. Since the original only held about 28, I think this is a bit much.

6) The Recognition Manual is missing about half the national flags, and one of the ones which is there is upside-down.

7) The entire roster for the British and American navies is included in the German roster. This means that all RN and US warships show up in the German section of the ID book, with German flags. It also means that every 'escort' I've seen so far has been a Fletcher-class destroyer flying the swastika. Also, pretty much every ship I've looked at has at least one crewman in US uniform.

If this is going to be called "the best mod ever", I'd say it needs a HUGE amount of work. So far it is unfinished and wrong. Some of the things I've mentioned are minor, but some are in need of serious revision. At this point I would say it compares very poorly to work that's already been released, not to mention work currently in production.
