This seems rather unusual. I also use TMO and the free camera a lot (F12 brings it up everywhere, not just the bridge by the way
 ), and Shift-moving is lightning fast for me. I can breach a gap of 1000 yards with the camera in mere seconds.You might want to consider resintalling the whole thing and making sure that you're using the correct versions of the mod/game.
