Yea

Too bad shots on goal don't count in hockey(something like 60-30 to Finland), but only goals. Overanxious attacking resulted in USA getting a few excellent counter-attacks(one 4 vs. 1 among others), and that's something you can't afford against a team like that. The game was again quite pleasant to watch with both teams attacking aggressively, and the goalies having to really stand on their heads as a result. Very good goaltending at both ends.

I think I'll jump on the Canada bandwagon from now on

Esche must have stood on his head as goal tending is not Team USA's strength.

That's what we were counting on too, but he did a damn fine job. 47 saves, and more than one of those was "match winner"-quality.

Over his career he has been pretty flaky, at least from what I have seen in the NHL, though he now plays in the KHL. But he does have those moments when he gets hot as a pistol.

You could have lost to Norway, then you'd be the laughing stock of Scandinavia.

I thought I smelled some vodka in the air.

4-2 over Latvia. To close for comfort.

Sweden or the Czechs tomorrow in the semis

On a darker note (for you), Sweden is still in the running towards the finale!

Because of all the fights I consider hockey only slightly more entertaining than professional wrestling which i totally loathe.
