Curious. And there I thought Obama was finally a US president with a sound reality check of how the world works and that selfhailing and idealizing the US while smashing porcellaine all over the planet has finally been realized as one of the major reasons the US finds itself in such an alien situation in regards to the rest of the world today and that Obama acts accordingly. That an apology is not a sign of weakness, but of confidence, respected whereever the headlines of his actions have been read, outside the US. That it's now Iran and other countries trying to gain advantage of the situation, thus giving the US a lot of credit it lacked over the last 10 years in beeing percieved as morally superiour. And that the US finally realizes that boycotting countries like Cuba isn't exactly doing anything for the US in the future, but quite to the contrary.
But, quite obviously, some folks never bothered to haul themselves into the 21th century. Must be the US own propaganda of beeing the best nation on earth for half a decade at least now making some people beeing such spoiled brats in regards to international politics nowadays. |

Platapus beat me to the Treaty of Tripoli, DAMN! (No dishonor being upstaged by a platypus though, one of nature's greatest killers).
I found the "signature" rather funny though- "every real American". Seems like 7 million more Americans voted for Obama, and he obviously had more supporters since there we're talking about registered voters(or people that actually bothered to vote). So maybe folks like that ought to question how they became the "real Americans" somehow. And while I'm pretty skeptical about Obama, I think it should take a little more than three months to get fed up with his administration. Bowing to the King of Saudi Arabia? Please don't tell that guy about the Bush family business. And visiting a Mosque in TURKEY?!!! HOLY CRAP!!!! WHO WOULD VISIT A MOSQUE IN A MUSLIM COUNTRY, PARTICULARLY ONE THAT IS KNOWN TO HAVE SOME RATHER IMPORTANT HISTORICAL MOSQUES?! TRAITOR!!!!! |

Well, the American population understood that Obama foreign relations skills were lacking quite a bit. He appointed Gaffer Joe to be a running mate to counter this. That worked great for the campaign but Gaffer Joe is now the grand Pooba for watching the stimulus money. Then we have Hillary who probably has a bit more than Obama concerning foreign relations but she is busy dodging fictious sniper fire. So, either Obama is doing his own thing, not listening to some coaching concerning these things or he just does not care. Personally, I do not care how he is handling it because he is handing out DVD episodes of Ren and Stimpy show.

I think it's way too early to tell what kind of president Obama will be.
it's interesting though that you can read many of the same criticisms relative to lack of experience if you look at newspaper columns from the early JFK presidency. Does Obama have what it takes to unite this Country and inspire the leaders of other Countries in order to lead us out of the recession? I don't know. But I do know that this recession is a world problem that requires the leaders of the world actually working together to solve it. Lip service isn't going to cut it this time. So, for me, the jury is still out on mister Obama. His inexperience certainly works against him, but everyone who find themselves in the same room as him find themselves liking and respecting him. I think the Europeans will at least give him the benefit of the doubt. It's then up to him to deliver on some of those campaign promises. ![]() Last edited by TDK1044; 04-21-09 at 09:51 AM. |

While I will agree that it may be too early to asses the full impact of the Oministration I urge you to compare where we are now to where we were 90 days ago.
Furthermore I urge you to review Mr. Obama's voting record in the senate (tip .. he was listed as the most liberal senator). Furthermore lets not forget his past associations with the likes of William Heirs, Louis Ferrikan, Acorn, the ACLU and on and on. Obama's general outlook does seem to be "Blame America first". But hey all that is in the past, besides O is 'hawt' and that is what really matters. http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpu...ent-beefc.html

Ayers, Farrakhan.
What associations did he have with Farrakhan?

![]() Just friends and 'associates' is all. But Obama distances himself from these past associations now. Like how he threw his former pastor under the bus.
