Posting light nudity would get you a pretty good slap on the wrist, same with light graphic violence (video game violence is a bit of an exception obviously). Sex/Gore would be much more harshly treated. So we treat it pretty much equally here.
I have to agree that its pretty screwed up of our societies to condone depictions of violence over that of sexuality. Though I don't think that if we made the switch from gratuitous violence to gratuitous pornography we would solve much. Both have strong negative qualities and destructive results for the audience. But there is nothing wrong with real love and sexuality. Ah my favorite kind Tribesman, aren't they cute ![]() |

Our tv is pretty much similar to US tv, namely because we get 90% of the tv-series from the US. But I agree, it is a strange double standard.
Actually got me thinking, I wonder what it would look like if our Finnish tv channels wouldn't buy any series from the US and all the cop/hospital/csi/etc. series would all be made domestically. Would there be more sex instead of violence in them? Possibly, but also lots more booze drinking. ![]() |
