Default [REQ] 8th Air Force Bombing Campaign

interesting concept here tell me what you think.

If you could make a large formation of B-17s and B-24s aligned to a neutral "country" so that they would ignore the player u-boat... but paint them up in 8th air force markings for authenticity... then set their altitude very high - to the max allowable by SH3 perhaps - and assign them historically accurate waypoint paths leading out of England over the north sea westward and then south into Germany.

this would appear to be the American and British high altitude bomber streams heading into Germany for places like Berlin, Bremen etc.

this could take place from 1942 or 43 onwards to the end of the war... so that players who found themselves in the North sea at this time would encounter the bomber stream.

might prove an interesting mod

Don't forget to add the Vapor Trails to the engines.

I attempted something similar once but the naval units had a field day.

Create them as stated.
A Neutral Country first.
Then use the SH4 command
3DModelFileName=Blah da blah
In the Roster folder?
You can name a path and date for the skins.

No need to add a new 3D model this way.
Which comes down to...................

No over head on loading time!

Hi Jimbuna

That mod of yours looks good- is that still in GWX?

WAC has much more movement of aircraft generally than other mods to date from what I have seen.

This would be a great addition in my opinion if possible.

Yeah, it's in GWX somewhere....but you would need to add the extra units in via the Campaign_rnd or scr

Strewth! Thanks, glad I didnt see them as yet!

Presumably the icebergs are way up north, and are they seen in campaign or just a single mission in that region?
