you can go uber fast while submerged. rather than the usual 8.5 knots at flank you can about 20 plus with it which makes evading the destroyers a lot of fun.

No, or at least I doubt it unless there is a mod for it. In the U-boat expansion you get it with the 21 boat when it is offered to you. It was fun for awhile, but I went back to the 7 boat because it can kick some butt on the surface. The crew on the 21 boat can never seem to take on an attacking aircraft. I would have them walk the plank if I could.

well that is a nice idea...

BTW did you know that Hydroperoxid propulsion were used by US on their subs as well even after the war. Same happened for Russian subs and the British tested it a couple times but abandoned the project because it was dangerous...

Default You might enjoy seeing the latter day equivalent...

http://www.kockums.se/products/products.html

This is from the Kockums website and includes details of the AIP ("air independent propulsion") system onboard the Swedish "Gotland," a non-nuclear SSK recently leased by the US Navy for evaluation. Appears the US is now considering non-nuclear subs for the first time since the 50's. The Gotland, taking part in fleet exercises, proved itself to be FORMIDABLE (to say the least!)
