I hate to break it to you guys but if any of us was lost at sea we would receive the same rescue priority and mission assets as those NFL players...
... only difference being that WE wouldn't be national news if we were lost. our plight simply wouldn't receive national media attention like theirs did. My bud is a C-130 driver - he is out on these little "missions" almost weekly, its pretty routine and should serve as no surprise to anyone. the media likes to incite people - the amount of SAR attention these guys received is pretty standard... its just that this particular case was media heavy. if it was my ass out there sitting on a capsized boat - yes i would have all those assets out searching for me... you would just never hear about it!
