Freak! I guess I shouldn't laugh, since bo got elected, I've been trying to buy more 7.62 ammo. I've been worried about all of his "exexcutive orders."

Looks more like that could pass for Eastern Washington to me.

If an economic situation were to get that bad those supplies would be next to useless in the long term.

If things get that bad.. These are far better

Seeds

Gardening tools

Books on various skills

Enough Small Solar Cells to keep a small radio charged (No Dynamos do not work as you would find yourself too exhausted to crank it at times and an AM radio may be badly needed at that point)

Cheap, effective insulation so a room can be sealed to retain heat.

Fresnel Lenses so you can use the sun to cook or heat something or even to boil water.

Water cleaning supplies..

--------------

What you have to understand is that if it gets to the point where you have to rely on "stocks" of items. Thats a depression that will last a decade at least. Because advancements would stagnate and the things needed to get the economy going again would be delayed.

All we need is fiscal responsibility accross the board going forward.

When banks write loans to people who they know fail to meet the basic loan requirements based on any real assessment, and when there are insufficient checks and balances in Wall Street, this is where you end up.

The Democrats will spend the next four years making the lower educated middle class more and more dependent on Government assistance in various areas of their lives, and this will make it increasingly difficult for a Republican Administration to get elected over the next 20 years.

We have entered the era of assisted living.

There were some folks who went that route during the great depression. Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrows, John Dillinger, etc. Pretty much all of them died in a hail of gunfire and going back further we have the example of the James Gangs raid into Northfield Minnesota.

You are correct sir! Some Sociologist refer to this as social engineering and has been in play for some time. They call it "the entitlement society". A socialists dream, but a freemans nightmare and one that can only be acheived by income/wealth re-distribution that Obama seems hell bent on accomplishing. My Father had his own business in the early 70's and was in the black each year and had to put 30% down to buy a house then. Across from us a hispanic family on welfare with no job qualified with no money down. This infuriated my Dad to no end. Because he was a hard worker up till this point. Sadly rather than keeping his pride he decided to join them rather than beat them and this is what the democratic party wants. A society of deadbeats who want their cheese handed to them from the government. Many say it will be like Cuba but i think it will be a bit better than that. They would fear a revolution if they let it slip to that level.

You know what, if people started stocking up on these items as well as other items. We could get out of this recession. People saving their money and not spending. Banks are not loaning. Get people spending and we will have of this knocked out.

I agree. I'm about to get some money flowing back into the economy myself and if I get a stimulus payment I intend to use it instead of saving it.

It will help. Especially if you spend it on the few remaining US made stuff (Like a few video games)

But for petes sakes people. Get some seeds! Look up what can grow in your area and consider grabbing some! Tomatoes are great as they are very high output and an average yard can sustain you if you plant some beans as well.

Rose and I have been doing a lot of planning along these lines for the retirement home. I'm hoping to start planting apple trees this spring.

A very large automatic weapon with unlimited ammo because there won't be any police or military to save your butt. Take what you need because those that don't have a weapon, can't take.........Sorry Folks, Law of the Jungle........

Yeah, but you'd better stock up on the Guzzleline or you'll end up with Tina Turner in Thunderdome in a couple of years. A razor sharp boomerang and a gyrocopter might be useful too.
