Bismarck battle

Hi mates,

I need some help from the GWX 3.0 crew about the Bismarck battle.

Currently onboard U-101, I'm in the Danemark Strait and we are May 13 of 1941 and waiting for the first part of this big battle.
I hope to watch Bismarck and Prinz Eugen and also HMS Hood, HMS Suffolk, HMS Norfolk and HMS Prince of Wales.
My position is very critical due the day light 24h/24...

My questions are: is this battle entirely included in the mod ? Is the real road of the Bismarck correctly followed in the game ? Do you think that I have a chance to see the battle ?

Hope you can answer me.

Be sure that onboard, the atmosphere is very hard and all of my crew feels that someting great will be happen soon...

PS: I follow the career timeline of the Bismarck here:

Yeah, most major battles are modeled into the game, but you can bet you have no chance of saving the Bismarck. Read the manual for some of the other battles that are modeled.

I don't want to save the Bismarck, just watching the battle and make a movie about it.
Thanks to answer.

You can get secret intel if you load up the editor.
Set the start and end month and year to May -41 and load the scripted layer.
I have seen the last battle a couple of times but not the battle in the Denmark strait. I´m in Feb -41, maybe this time

Hi!

Your best bet is to create the battle in the scenario editor with GWX 3.0 installed, and then put your U-boat wherever think the cameras need to be. That way you can control where the ships are and where they go. You can also set up different parts of the battle using different missions. This makes blocking, editing, and other film-making activities a lot easier.

IIRC someone made a movie of the last voyage of the Bismarck several years back using SH3, with music from Lord of the Rings.

Of course it's a good solution too.
But you know, I think it will be more impressive if I meet the Bismarck and the other ships and if I watch the battle during my war campagn and without any cheats because during a campagn it's like if it was in real time. And I will be like a "war correspondant" you see ?
I don't know if you understand what I mean.

Thanks to your solution.

Go into the mission editor and look in the Campaign_Scr layer.....this will show you precisely where they are ingame.

Thanks Jim.
It's a way of course, but it's very fun to found the ships without any cheats.
I just need to know if there is a real battle in the game or if the Hood is simply deleted of the database after may 24, 1941.

Yesterday I read a little in the pdf but not found anything.

What you will find 'ingame' is that should you return to the area.....the Bismarck will be 'circling' regardless of the outcome of the battle.

Game limitations imposed on us regarding 'spawning' of vessels.

Sorry for the delay...I never realised you were awaiting an answer from me.

Yes, as I've highlighted above, the Hood is deleted from the roster on 25th May 41.

Thanks Jim.
An about the american task force to intercept the Bismarck ?

Another question: are you sure that this skin of the Bismarck is the real camo used during the battle ?
I know that the Bismarck has changing her camo near Bergen in the Kors Fjord on may 21 of 1941 and I doubt that she use this parade camo to go at war.
Just to ask if there is an other skin for the Bismarck(and Prinz Eugen who has changing her camo too).

To confirm that, there is a pic of the Bismarck May 24 of 1941 in the morning:

Camo is not the same.
