Hi all,
I've been gone for a while and jsut getting back up to speed with the newer mods. I used to know the answer to this, but wasn't able to figure it out - What I want to do is change the percentage amounts each thing add or subtracts from the realism value. I know the vaules have to be balanced to 100%, I just don't remember what file it is in. Thanks, Also - does anyone know what might have happened to my account? I had to re-register and I have many, many posts here once upon a time. But the forum didn't even have a record of my email address. Was there a purge or something? |

In your startup menu there should be a heading called options. Once you click on that, there are three choices, graphics, sound and gameplay. You want the one called gameplay. Also, when you start from your shore-based office in the career mode there is a radio or such on the bookshelf that also doubles as an option menu.
Welcome back. |

Thanks Torplexed, but I didn't make myself clear - sorry about that.
What I want to do is edit the file values such that say manual targeting will account for a different percentage of realism. I know it can be done, because I had it edited before. I don't like the relative importance "weights" as they are assigned by default. Man, I love your drawings and such. I have a collection of some of them on my HD. Some of the older ones I missed. |

i understand what you want to do but it makes no sense to me.
![]() whats the point of changing the realism values when your the only one seeing it? so you can say your playing 100% realism when your not, as compared to everyone else???? if your values are different than everyone elses then they mean nothing. |

No, not exactly.
My reason is this: I only ever play single player. I don't feel the need to do manual targeting. I don't want the points-accumulation hit from not being at 100 percent (I usually play at around 90% anyway). I don't care to compare myself to anyone else here, I want to just enjoy the game. I don't particularly agree with the way the percentages are apportioned out to begin be default (but this is a matter of taste). I think that to have manual targeting have a higher percentage off of the realism over other, more essential things to the operation of the sub is ... well, I just don't like it. I will spelunk around in the files. This was pretty easy when I did it before, I was just being lazy about figuring it out again. Thanks, |

Dig around until you find Data/cfg/GamePLaySettings.cfg
That is where you will find what you are looking for. As you said, make sure that the sum of the values equals 100 or strange things might happen.

its at the bottom of gameplaysettings.upc file but its easier to just leave them alone and boost your starting renown, then points dont matter |
