"Normal sweep" command will not, as stated above, work on the surface but you could always remove the sonarman from his station and then put him back.
I figure he has to take a 5 minute break sometime while on the surface. ![]() Benny |

Thanks Benny. That is a good tip. I take him out and he stops. What was funny is in a new mission I had him track while submerged, then I surfaced and had my watch give bearing and range. Course my Hydrophone guy was giving updates too. Hilarious. So I took him off his post. I was parraleling the ship for awhile. So I thought after maybe 15 minutes I'd put my Hydrophone guy back at his post while still surfaced and he started giving updates again.

you have to submerge for any sonar commands to work.
like i said.... order "normal sweep" and he will stop following that specific contact. of course if it is the ONLY contact in hydrophone range, he will provide updates... but he will sweep for others as well if you do it this way. 1. submerge 2. order normal sweep 3. surface 4. presto... no more surface contact following
