OMH.....MY.......GAWD!!
![]() ![]() Now that would be like icing on the cake.... Man I bet the Devs are just oozing jealousy right now (Smirk ![]() ![]() Modding on this forum and SH3 has got to be the BEST modding that I have seen anywhere bar non... Now to the foam...I Like it because it to me it does two things..... 1 Looks natural and way cool 2 Takes the edge off the wave front by masking, which to the eye then kinda smooths the frame (You get what I mean?) I hope this is achievable , good luck to you w_clear Deep Six

Will this be included in your new collaborative release with Kriller?

Hi W_clear, this would be awesome!
![]() Here are some brainstorming about how to make this doable with the current tools we have available. To make this work I think we would need to make a new part of code which reads the current windspeed and direction of the wind from the engine and then if the wind blows more than f.ex. 10m/sec. the new part of code should start making the actual foam this should be possible, I remember Nisgeis tell me that he was able to read these parameters from the engine. Now comes the dificult part! We need to make the actual foam on top of the waves to look realistic! and make the foam on top of the waves folow the direction of the wind/wave, I think this would require a new shader or a new particle effect which reads in which direction the wind blows and then throws the foam in the right direction. Maybe we need some help with this as I think this requires skills in programming in the shader files (which I haven't) the following people can shed some light on this subject, Nisgeis, Seeadler, Skwasjer, but then again you have surprised me before w_clear ![]() Last edited by kriller2; 02-19-09 at 05:37 AM. |
