Default [REL] New slide out compass graphics

From the readme (No, does not substitute reading it completely, you moron! Find it in the "documentation" folder):

FLB Sale's big compass, later added as stock feature to GWX 2.1 onwards and planned for NYGM 3.2 onwards is a must for manual targeting, but there were two things that annoyed me when using it:
1) The 1 degree markings were cluttering the compass too much for my taste,
2) The inner wheel -representing your U-Boat bearings- was too confusing as it also had the N-W-O-S labelling, which shouldn't be there.
This mod addresses that, and also gives a new, more historic look to the compass. It simply consists of a new set of graphics for the existing slide out compass. Since only the graphics are replaced, the functionality remains exactly the same and no incompatibilities are caused with other mods. The new graphics can be used will all mods the older compass was already compatible with.

Cool! I use FLB_Sales' full Simfeeling 6-Dials mod, but, as you say, it's only a graphic, so I'll be installing it tonight.

Looks good!

If the OLC mod ships the slide out compass and has not renamed the graphics, then yes this one will replace them and give you the new look.

I love it three. But I also love the original. Which means I hate you!
:rotfl:

Being unable to decide brings out the worst in me. Is yours closer to the real thing? Picture please? It will help Simple Stupid Steve to decide.

Yes it is. Not 100% accurate, but closer. In the real compass -which Oakgroove masterfully recreated in his bordinstrumente- the interior dial was divided in 100 parts, with the succesive tenths highlighted, not in 360º. The reason, which you probably know as ex-sailor if you have steered the ship, is that change course orders are often issued as "A quarter to starbord" or whatever word the US Navy uses for a certain division of the compass (In the spanish one they divide the compass in 32 sets of 11,25º and call each of them a "cuarta" or quarter).

But since the slide out compass main use for us is setting exact course changes and helping us mentally ubicate the relative position of the enemy, I preferred to leave the interior with the 360º division.

That said, now I might consider doing a real full replica of the authentic compass

A picture of the compass aboard U-505 (From U-Boat.net):
