The track is true from the map but you'll have fun intercepting anything as you have to guesstimate where the track is on the in game map.
I've tried on 2 seperate careers but not yet seen the Bismarck, weather always turns crud for some reason. I've cheated when I've had sound contacts though just to see what they are and watched the relevant British battle groups tramp past after the Bismarck but never managed to shoot at anything. It all ends on the 27th May, before it does you get about 12 hours notice by way of a radio message to go to the NE of BE53 IIRC to assist the Bismarck but I've always been out of position when the sinking report comes in. |

Why to wait at the unclear terminal waypoint of HMS Hood journey? It would be much more simple to wait near Scapa Flow at the time the British Task Force is about to set sail from their base.. The question is:will they go out eastwards or westwards?

yes,all you said i have thinked about, the problem is how to find the British Task Force and when you find it how to get close enough to go into a fire position, find the Task Force may be a challenge and will be more interesting. Now i have a savedgame in May3 1941,so i may have a lot of time to find the British, maybe stay out of the Scapa Flow is a good idea

Left the Lorient port at May18 1941,and ploted the course to AM21.in May 20,the boat got to the aera and received report:Enemy war ship course West, speed 21 knots!
The next day in the afternoon,16:46 two warships(battle crusier Hood and battleship Prince of Wales) were spoted, range 8800m,no escorts!16:51 got into the periscope depth, and set the parameters, range 800m,AOB 30degrees left, speed 21knots.the boat got into the fire positon at 16:58,then fire the 3 of bow topedos(depth 5m,low speed, and separate angle 3degrees).The tepedos hit the battleship in 30seconds! The battleship Prince of Wales didnt sink, but the speed reduced to 5knots!the boat surfaced at 17:46,at this time the Hood had gone away, only left the Prince of Wales. At 18:03 the battery recharged 100%,and then the tube had loaded topedos again.20:01,found the battleship again, range 8000m,then the boat got to 13m and used attack periscope,20:34 the parameters were seted completely, angle 320degrees,range 800m,aob 50degrees right, speed 6knots,two topedos go to the ship at 20:41,and when they hitted the target the Prince of Wales sunk finnaly! The hunt successful!the hood will be destroyed by Bismark in may 24....... So everybody who want to hunt the Prince of Wales could follow my steps,,you must get to AM21 before May20,if you have installed the GWX satellite mod,you will find a warship icon in the map on May20,it is the little task force, course west, fast speed, there are only two battleships in the group,so you can hunt them easily! Hope you can find them ![]() |

Will the Bismark still be sunk, or will you indeed change history?
