with your modding efforts (creaks, gun muzzle flash, disel engine sounds) you may have caused the problem, so do your modding one thing at a time then test it in the game, so you can tell what went wrong if it does. this also helps you know what folder you were messing with and which folder or file to replace to fix it.

Well the good news is that i backed up the game as you mentioned, but the bad news is that i still have a no go.Now when i fire the deck gun it is giving me the sound act error and boots me right out of the game, so i de-activated the fall of the rising sun mod and once again i have to spend about 4 and 7 minutes re-downloading it from scratch.This is gonna be impossible, i mean modifying the sounds again to make it more realistic withouth the errors, lets face it i wond be able to do it and wont be able to expand this even further for more realism than ever.IM gonna re apply the mod from scratch as it is for the time beeing, but its gonna suck a bit because i wont have my extended realistic modifications done.

There must be a way.First time, i applyed the mod as normal then i modified 5 sounds to make them extremely realistic, then i changed the shell pictures, added in an intro movie and lastly just added in the better leaks mod.Thats all i want to be done, but it is not happening at the momment peoples....

when you download mods keep them in zipped format and save them on disk so you only have to suffer the long download time once.

slow downloads sometimes get interupted so maybe it was incomplete for some reason and that is all thats wrong.

i have a habit of downloading most if not all mods i see that interest me, weather i use them or not, so i can see how they were done and doing that has helped me understand how and why things work in the game.

most mods fall into a few catagories like texture, text, or dat, sim, zon so learning how some changes effect the game in certain ways can give you mod ideas.
