Early in the war, I hunt both sides of this line, finding unescorted large ships and some convoys heading for Bristol. Often I have found a large tanker escorted by another tanker (or a large cargo). Yum.

Watch out for the continental shelf, especially in daylight. And watch for planes in BF14 and especially BF15.
This is an awesome area in the early war. I followed your line and found the Nelson.
Wunderbar! What was her location and heading, if you recall it?

She was sailing in the midst of a convoy in BF15 heading ENE towards the Bristol area.

And the date? I must know the date! (Between the 24th and 30th of October I hope? )

True, but grid 53 is a better choke point.

Early war ('39-'41) BF13 is pretty good. Watch out for MTB's though. They often patrol that area in pairs. Nasty little things...
