Someone on the UBI forums posted this: http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/t...855#9331035855 There is also one for Warships. Go to the SH4 General Discussions forum on UBI. Search for "Ship Lengths".

As fish says, it's possible to find the lengths

but i don't do that - i usually just guess the lengths. it's not so hard. most ships come in convenient lengths

destroyers and small merchants are about 75m
small tankers are about 100m
heavy merchants are about 150m
heavy tankers are about 200
battleships and aircraft carriers - you shouldn't be depending on this method for hitting them, but cvs are usually about 200m while BBs are about 250m

In my remember, there was no 75M scale in chrono historically, is that right?
Will the whole U-jagd Tools be imported into SH4?

Hi uPrestige

It's correct there's no 75m scale historically and i have options for using it without...but, historically it was a 100 second chrono, not a 60 second one and this meant it was easier to calculate speeds for slow moving targets or medium speed smaller targets by dividing the 150m target result by two.

Since the 100 sec chrono isn't possible with SH, the addition of the 75m ring restores some of the functionality of the original that would otherwise be lost in converting the 100 sec chrono to a 60 sec one

On the otherhand, the U-jagd chrono wasn't the only specialist chrono in use with the kriegsmarine - there's also the Hanhart stoppuhr with a lot of scales and numbers for timing torpedo runs, although i'm not entirely sure what the use is - i think it can be used either for estimating time of impact given the range to target and torpedo speed, but also give you the exact range to target after the explosion - by which time you may not care very much exactly how far it was.

As for the rest of the U-jagd tools mod: Mikayl already ported the AOB finder, feel free to combine them, although there's something a bit unsatisfactory about the implementation compared with the SH3 version.

Finally the Angriffscheibe and Sliderule - sadly noone has found a way to implement it into SH4. The differences in the menu-file have defeated us all.

Hi, joegrundman:
About a year ago I tried to deconstruct menu1024.ini file and managed to combine U-Jagd Tools and WAC style HUD TDC (from one of Racerboy's mods) into one mod for SH3. IMO the HUD TDC is very important for manual targetting, especially it's more difficult manual targetting in U-boat than that in fleet-boats.

Is it possible to make WAC style HUD TDC compatible in SH4 for U-boats?

i don't know exactly what the wac-style hud is. If it's a matter of FLB Sale's periscope TDC, then look on this forum for FLB Sale's periscope TDC for SH4UBM

then, sure you could try combining all 3! Someone's gotta do it
