Need some help with mods plz

hi there everyone i just got sh4 and have been having trouble with some mods

im having trouble getting TMO working with RSRDC ive installed both with JSGME and have the correct versions for 1.4 sh4 from what ive read these are compatable but i cant seem to get them to work i get crash to desktop everytime i try to start a patrol

ive got them loaded as follows....

rel_triggermaru_overhaul
RSRDC_TMOv14_v370
RSRDC_v370_patch1

am i missing something here?

i got RFB to work fine with RSRDC so whats up here?

also in terms of realism which is a better overhaul mod TMO or RFB? in your opinion of course something like GWX 2.1 for sh3 (awesome mod btw)

It's been a while since I read the readme's, but I think TMO is only compatable with 1.5. Check on that. I think you need TM 1.72 for SH 1.4.

k from what ive gathered there is a tmo for 1.4 and it does work but i cant find a 1.72 version anywhere the only versions ive seen are 1.52 and that only works for 1.5 sh4

what is the newest versions of tmo and where can i find it? and dont say check the thread on tmo because i already checked there and i dont see any 1.72 version on the filefront link

I just checked, all of them: RFB-102508, RSRD & TMO1.5.2 are stickied above in this forum and linked to the latest versions for SH4 1.5.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're looking for? All should be compatible with 1.4 - although unsupported now. And all the new versions are compatible with 1.5.

I'm going back to X-mas .... (need more eggnog) - I cant spell compatible right above ........ lol

goggles, welcome to the forums. I was in your city a couple of years ago (twice) passing through on the Skeena train to Prince Rupert from Jasper, then back.

You have the correct version of Trigger Maru if it's the Overhauled edition. For short it's called just TMO. "TMO 1.52" is the version for a Silent Hunter game patched with the 1.5 U-Boat Missions Addon. So if you have SH4 patched to just 1.4 the "TMO" version is the correct one.

The version of RSRDC_v14_v370 is also the correct version to use with TMO, but I'm not too sure about the RSRDC patch1 that you mentioned. There could have been a later one but I'm not entirely sure. If I were you I would run just TMO with the stock SH4 patched to 1.4 and see if you get a CTD. If not, then try the RSRDC v370 next loaded after TMO to see what you get. If you run ok then try the RSRDC patch1. If you get a CTD during the different combinations then you'll have a handle on which one is screwing up the works. I know Lurker_hlb3 doesn't bother to keep up with older versions of his mods so you may be SOL if you find his RSRDC v370 or his patch is at fault.

Just don't have other mods loaded when your trying these mods with each other. There are many mods out now that just take for granted your using the SH4 with the Patch 1.5 Addon. Since your still using SH4 patched to 1.4 you are limited to many of the mods, and you may not even know it.

i been trying to hunt down the u boat expansion but i might end up just ordering or downloading it online

cant wait for the gwx team to come out with thier sh4 project i love thier work

Goggles, I noticed on the RSRDC thread that Aanker linked; under the "Unsupported RSRDC Mods" there is a "RSRDC_SH4v14_CTD Fix" for the SH4 v1.4 game. What it fix's, I don't know but I would think there is a readme with it that explains what it does and how to load it. I would think you load it after the Patch1, which you load after RSRDC v370, which you load after TMO.

I'm assuming that you already know where to find the "Unsupported RSRDC mods" on the RSRDC stickied thread, but in case someone doesn't, scroll down to the very bottom of the first post in that thread. That link will take you to Lurker's FileFront site with the older 1.4 versions of his mods.

If your still having trouble, try redownloading the mods again from the FileFront site. Could be a corrupt download. Also, you should not try to replay a previous stock saved game with the mods installed. The unmodded saved games will CTD if you try to load one after installing the various mods you listed. Always load these mods when your at base, just before starting on a fresh patrol.
