IMHO, it boils down to the players geographical location.
Being a UK resident means that I have been schooled about WWII and therefore I have more of a vested interest/understanding in the Atlantic battles. Likewise, US residents, have been schooled about their Pacific conflict. They will have a greater understanding of the units & people involved in that theatre. Neither is more 'real' than the other, it's still a game. It only feels more 'real' based on the users historical preference. Edit - Dowly, why are you still conscious? Glug, glug.......*hic*
