Default [REL] Early War Darker VIIB/C skin

Well, with the release of that cool eagly thingie on the front of the tower by Nautilus42, I decided to go out on a lark and start a little bit of an early-war setup, Studying pre-war and in-war photos of U-boats, I noticed that quite a few U-boats had the Eagle on the tower, and the paintjobs looked much darker than the GWX light grey.
SO!
with that being said, I am starting a little pre-and-start-of-war patch, per se, to make the type VIIB and type II have the proper early war paintjobs, eagle insignia on the tower, and those pretty numbers on the tower.
This is just a start of course, there will be more later.
But, for your driving pleasure, the Darker VIIB/C skin.
The place where the schnorkel is is rusty for a reason, IMO, the early war U-boats didn't have VERY pretty, pristine parts to just throw on their U-boots. I made the Schnorkel housing location rusty to imitate the use of whatever your imagination can canjure...roadway? old trawler? possibly a left-for-dead experimental U-boot? The choice is yours, if you don't like it, back it up and delete it, i'm sure that it will convert to normal.
I haven't even started to pack, upload, and write a readme for this, so be patient, it won't be TOO much longer!

ITS UP! GO!

All we need is the big number on the conning tower and we've got the classic pre-war VIIB.

Fantastic skin This is the dark "Schlickgrau 51" in which U-Boats like U-47 were painted.

Since you seem to have a taste for painting U-Boot skins, this article might help you a lot: http://www.rokket.biz/models/modelsw...7/ubrass.shtml

Scroll down until you find "U-Boat colours and markings by Doug Martindale", it is probably the best info available nowadays on the subject.

Lovely skin, SledgeHammer. Perfect for that early-war feeling. Can't wait to see your type II and others.

@ Hitman: thanks for the link to those PDFs. Good stuff there.
