Default Gay Apple

So that's why the iPhone sux (jks).

Highest-profile CEO to come out (of the closet).

Tim Cook - "I'm proud to be gay"

Good publicity for ya, Tim.

Still won't solve your 'iPhone is crap' issues though.

Well, i'm coming out today, i'm going to get myself some sunshine and head down the beach.

Politically correct idiocy. There is no merit and no achievement and no success in being gay, it solves no global problem and is of no benefit or concern to the world. It simply is unimportant. Why to be proud of being gay, escapes me. It's as if I were proud to have eyes that need glasses, or somebody else being proud to have blond hair. "Gay pride" is no doubt one of the most stupid and pointless slogans I have ever heard.

Possibly it was just a calculated publicity coup to bring the apple logo back into the news.

And you, Mr. Cook - better be proud of for example your job achievements or business success, if you feel like it. Because different to your skin colour or sexual orientation, actively achieving something is something that you indeed sometimes can be proud of and claim credit for. But no athlete ever has won a gold medal for having this or that shoe size or having green eyes - but for having trained hard and then winning the final competition. That's what the applause rewarded - his shoe size was not asked for, never.

Good for him. Maybe more high level executives will feel comfortable coming out and that may help young people deal a little bit better with their orientation.

Yeah, anything that helps gay people feel more comfortable with their sexuality is good. A friend of mine is going through a lot of crap at the moment just because she's a lesbian.

Totally agree Sky.

Like i said, purely publicity.

No-one cares. No-one will feel a huge weight is lifted off their shoulders now that he's come out.

The world will continue to rotate.

The sun will continue to get hotter.

The tides will still be affected by the moon.

And bringing God into it is typical. Justifies something now does it?
Having the big Guy's support? Yea right.

Because God didn't create Adam and Adam.

Dumbest typical new-age gay saying there is.

This gay is more interested in lining his pockets with your greenbacks for his crappy products than have a moral obligation to 'help', whatever that means, other gays to come out.

In the Corporate world, as the article claims, more gays coming out is a whoopdy-doo effect.

More gays coming out in the lower-class or middle-class is a whoopdy-doo effect.

A stunt is a stunt.

Your mission is complete Tim.
Apple is in the news.

It's seems politically correct to show pride if you're minority. Guess if you're in the norm of things, it doesn't matter. I've noticed with all the gay and race issues going on, a lot of people are posting straight and white pride memes...
Honestly, I've never thought about being white and straight, guess cuz it was never an issue being in the majority.

They say the new iPhone is too large for most women's hands to hold.

Must be why they call it the i6 Wolferz.

As for all the eccentric folk out there, out of the closet or not, What you do in privacy is none of my business. Please, for your love of St Peter, keep it to yourself.

The problem comes when people make it their business and you get crap like this:

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk...n-1884947.html

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conversion_therapy

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-25927595

Honestly it really should not be an issue who someone loves, or how they feel about their gender, no more than the colour of someones skin should be an issue.
Sadly though, for some people, it is an issue...but thankfully, those people are growing smaller in number through each generation and will soon be extinct or relegated to unimportance.

That sentence would have been so much funnier, if it was about a (male) gay person.

FFS. It's unimportant to you. The world isn't organised for your benefit. When gay rights are under threat and in some places marching backwards, it matters.

In a perfect world, I agree, it shouldn't matter. But as GT's resident Chicken Little you might agree that the world isn't bloody perfect.

Oh for God's sake. Your eyesight or hair colour aren't major impediments to your pursuit of happiness or your rights as a human, they don't deny you the rights and benefits of the perfectly-sighted or black-haired, so either stop making the comparison or make it somewhere I don't have to stomach it. I could suggest somewhere.

Maybe he should have kept it quiet to ensure that any young or impressionable member of what is still a discriminated-against class could go without the benefit of knowing the head of the world's most valuable company is just like them, suffered the same they have, and succeeded in life.

Gay pride exists because gay shame exists.

The shame should not exist, of course. Stupid arguments like this one aren't exactly hurting, but they're definitely not helping.

Yeah, Apple need the advertising. Strewth.

You think he's not proud of those things? Being gay affects your life and who you are as a person. THe environment of where you grow up affects this massively. You can end up normal, a little more guarded, or hung by your neck until dead.

This argument is beyond stupid. Congratulations on missing the point entirely.
