Just purchased Dangerous Waters. Whats the best way to go. Played 688 for many years, but i reakon i'll be a bit rusty. Whats the best way to learn the other platforms? Easy single missions?
What are peoples thoughts?

Hi Screwloose,

I'm new to the game, but what you said about starting with the easy single missions worked just fine for me. When learning the individual stations, It also helps if you can print out the section of the manual which relates to the specific platform you are using, so you can easily refer to it.

Also, I think that the aircraft are very easy to learn in comparison to the submarines and the frigate. The MH-60R followed by the P3 is a good start, unless you are eager to jump into a submarine right away.

You're going to get a ton of different opinions on your question, but here's my suggestions:
1. Read the manual so that at least you understand the technology involved, it's strengths, it's weaknesses, and how it works for you. Make sure to learn about TMA, the differences between the different types of sonar, and the basics of naval tactics.

2. Start with the 688i. Once again. Read the manual to learn what is at each station. Once you've mastered the 688i, move onto the Seawolf. It's an easy jump up. From there, I would move to the Russian Akula and then to the Kilo. Finally, I would learn the FFG and then the aircraft.

3. There's a fantastic guide to learning the FFG in the downloads section here. The FFG is the most complicated thing to learn in this game.

4. For each platform, make sure you read the section of the manual that covers all the stations for that platform.
