Default Ah, finally...

Positioned myself ahead of a convoy. Only 3 eels remain in forward tubes. Escorts go by. I pop up the scope to see who's there.

Oooohhhh ammunition ship, nice. Troop ship, even better. LARGE troop ship Wheeeeeee!!! Wait, what is that lurking back in the mists. Too big to be an escort.

HMT Aquitania. So, we meet agai..... (thud)

Sharp odor of smelling salts and I'm awake again. "Ready salvo tubes 1,2 and 4, magnetic pistols, depth 15.5."

Why is she behind the convoy like that? Hrm, "Ears" hears nothing from that bearing. She's not afire, not listing, but doing only 3 knots and has settled down in the water on an even keel.

Is it really going to be that easy? "Down scope! Torpedo room, belay my previous order! Ready the T1 in tube 1, impact pistol, depth 8."

NOT touching the TC button!!! Learned that lesson.

Wait until the escorts go by. Wait some more for the lumbering beast, now at 2 knots, to reach the perfect firing position.

"Tube 1, Los!"

Impact! She slips under the waves before the escorts even turn around.

Took out the 44,000 ton Aquitania with a single t1 with impact pistol.
(OK, with a bit of AI kaleun help)

We likes Aquitania sinkings. Next time use half a torpedo

In GWX, HMS Aquatania is either a programming error or a deliberate easter egg. Either way, she'd sink on her own if Bernard even farted in her direction.

I've sunk her with 2 rounds from my deck gun. Not even a sloop goes down that easily.

Very unrealistic way to sink 44,000 GRT.

I've played countless patrols and I have never even seen Aquitania.

Not exactly her finest hour, but you get the idea...

Yeah, that happened to me. The excitement of spotting her and realising I could actually intercept (she's a fast ship) was soon replaced by dissapointment as I finished off a lame duck.

I've seen her twice now. This time she was definitely damaged. She was going 2 knots by the time I fired, and was very low in the water.

The first time, she was alone doing 24 knots. My heavy hand on the time compression ruined a perfect firing position.

Both times I was hunting along Rockall Bank. If you can handle regularly going 3 - 4 days without a contact, the wait is usually worth the downtime.

Correction: The first time I saw her was the choke point NW of Aberdeen.
