Default lol, such a nerd...

I'm a high school student on a Friday night and my idea of a good time is curling up with Das Boot and Sh3, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME SUBSIM!

Wow, I'm also a high school student playing SH3 on a Friday night.

And I live in Georgia, too. Freaky.

I've always said that a twelve-step program is needed for all the submarine simulation addicts here.

"Hi... my name is Kpt. Lehmann... and I'm a submarinaholic."

My name is Platapus and I am....<sob> a submarineaholic

It all started innocently, you know, a couple of training missions, just to be one of the guys.

Well, it quickly became something serious....

Soon stock SH3 was not enough. You see... there were these mods <sob>

Honestly, I only wanted to experiment with one mod -- The grey wolves. I thought I was in control. But I was lying to myself. There were other mods.... too many mods. I admit, I was like a kid in a candy store.

Then there was JSGME. It was SUPPOSED to help me with my mod addictions. HAH! It only enabled me to delve deeper and deeper into mods. Soon I could not play SH3 without JSGME. I had the SH3 monkey on my back

I did not even try to resist SH3 Commander. By that time I was too far gone..... <sob>

I had the stopwatch, the graph paper and yes <hanging head in shame> even my own hard-copy recognition manual!

I tried to keep my family out of this, but I am sure they knew. You can't hide a submarine addiction.

After work I would hurry home for a quick patrol.

Often I would need to log onto Subsim.com first thing in the morning.. just for a few posts to get going.

Soon my friends all left me for WoW or Medal of Honor.. they knew I was a lost case.

It is too late for me. But if I can save one, just one person from becoming a submarineaholic, perhaps my life won't be such a waste.

Go outside and don't be afraid of that bright ball in the sky. It won't hurt you and really, there are no aircraft diving toward you.

one more thing.
why do we all play game which we know we will always lose?

not just that the war always ends in the allies favour, but i have yet to live to see the end of the war. even if i start in april 45.

uboat.net made me get into SH3. its their fault, not mine......!

my family suffers. my kids only get rye bread with a growth of mold. they stare at me when i tell them its more realistic to eat it that way.

its not my fault.

my wife asked me where the new market was in town. i told 270 degrees hard rudder starboard from the bus stop.

its not my fault.

somone dropped a shotglass of green peppermint shnapps into my beer. it looked like a familiar canister i had seen somewhere before. i took the mug and my hands began to shake.

its not my fault.

i saw a corvette park in front of our house (my sister) and promptly dove under the coach before i realised what i was doing.

its not my fault.

ive started taking german classes. just...umm....for the hell of it?

its not my fault

I heard that there was a cure. It was called SH4. It would relieve the SH3 bug. It turned out to be like methadone - now I'm addicted to both.

There is no help. If you're reading this, run while you still can!
