Sunk with...Flak gun in 1939?

GWX 1.03, just started a new career in a Type 2. went out on my first patrol sunk two ships and spent all my torps (hit 4 ships but only 2 went down)

On the way back however I came across a little freighter. So, not wanting to pass up the opportunity. I manned the little flak gun and started firing on her.

Got most of the destructables from the top of her deck. She didn't go down...then I decided to see if I could actually sink it. So I got into a good position and started firing below the waterline where the prop was. I got the shock of my life as the ship started smoking...badly...

Kept firing and pretty soon she lit up like hiroshima. I've never seen a ship blow up like that. I don't know if she was carrying fuel or oil. But...wow...

Anyone else tried sinking with a flak gun? Or...am I not alone?
